scenic spots such as Huangguoshu Waterfall, the Dragon Palace and

the Red Maple Lake forms a circular tourist line in the west part of

Guizhou Province.

The Zhijin Cave Scenic Spot covers an area of 307 square kilometers

including the ancient town of Zhijin, the central part of Zhijin Cave,

the Luojie River Gorge and the Biyun (blue clouds) Lake Vacational

Resort. The total length of Zhijin Cave surveyed is 12.1kilometers.

The broadest part of the cave reaches 175 meters and its relative

height from the bottom to the top measure 150 meters. The common

height and width of the cave is between 60 and 100 meters. The total

area inside the cave is 7000000 square meters.

Zhijin Cave is an outstanding cream bestowed by the nature. It is

characterized by its grand scale, marvelous spectacle and complete

varieties of stalactite. There are over 40 kinds of karst precipitation

forms in the cave, embracing the main kinds found in karst cave all

over the word. Zhijin Cave consists of 11 halls which are divided into

47 chambers. A new look of multifarious atmosphere and limitless

scenes can be found in the following: Such as the magnificent

Underground Pagoda Forest, the visionary state of Iron Mount Mist,

the boundless stretch of Sillent Mountains, the majestic

one-hundred-foot-high Stone Curtains, the abstruse Moon Palace,

the mysterious Linxiao Hall (Hall of the Supreme Deity of Taoism)

in the Heavenly Palace, the forceful and straight Curly Stalactite,

the lifelike elephant-riding god Puxian (Samantabhadr) and the

Harmonious Relationship of the Puoxi (the mother-in-law and the

daughter-in-law) etc. All these karst landscapes look like large

scaled paintings and are acclaimed as the acme of perfection with

their amazing charms. Some experts have made observations of

Zhijin Cave and compared it with the karst caves in France and

Yugoslavia which are well-known all over the world, yet they have

come to the conclusion that Zhijin Cave is much more grand,

complete and graceful in scale, type of shapes and natural

landscapes than them.
